In Japan, the Torii gate symbolises the nexus between the human world and the spirit realm.
At a special place where we spend a lot of time, walking beneath it brings you to uncleared paths, rougher traversals and into the forest.
The symbol I carved into the center-block is the kanji for the number 'ten', which further derives to 'heaven'.
